As to the front wheel, it should probably spin freely and not take any force. At least that's how it is with the old tapered Timkens, I can't imagine sealed bearings being different. When I get the endplay set right on mine, I can spin the wheel with a flick of my pinky finger.
Previously, mechanics would compress and release the fork several times with the pinch bolts loose, or spin the wheel and slam on the front brake to shock the fork mount into parallel. Both of these methods are hit or miss at best, and neither method provides verifiable accuracy.

Front feels free and will spin about a quarter turn after I spin it. The wheel spun freely till i tightened the axle nut (I hand tightened and no additional binding after I wrenched it).

This whole time only the left front wheel was off the ground and the truck was in 2wd. We moved to the right front and noticed the same thing. I'm guessing perhaps the front hubs stay locked in full-time so that's why the front wheels don't spin freely when only one side is off the ground but can someone confirm that's normal? Thanks!
